Ethics Workshop: "Safe Place, Containers and Metaphors: Ethics and Best Practices in Child and Adolescent Trauma Treatment" (3 CEUs ethics)

Practical therapeutic tools to help your client identify and scale emotions, regulate emotions, and be able to experience heightened emotions during trauma reprocessing.  Creative ways to introduce metaphors, safe place and container activities to younger clients will be provided.  Facilitator will share common topics that therapist wish they knew before working with trauma processing therapies. Learning objectives include:

I. Creative emotion regulation and distress tolerance activities
II. Resourcing children/adolescents for trauma processing

III. Common topics that therapist wish they knew before working with traumatized younger clients

 

 

 Sherri Hicks, LMSW is a graduate of ASU and provides therapy to children, adolescents, families and individual adults.  Sherri assists her clients in becoming free of the negative effects of trauma, PTSD, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, OCD/OCPD, and more.  She utilizes EMDR, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy and Psychodynamic theory to walk alongside her clients through the healing journey.  She has worked closely with children and families who have suffered sexual trauma and have assisted in healing throughout the family.
