2018 NASWAZ SOCIAL WORK CONFERENCE & AWARDS LUNCHEON

 

Join us for a full day of activities including networking, our annual awards ceremony, CEUs, and much more!  Sponsors: Check out our sponsorship opportunities here!

Our festivities will include honoring our 2018 state-level award winners during the Awards Luncheon. We're excited to provide many options on how to attend:

All Day Conference AND Awards Luncheon: If you sign up for Conference, the Awards Luncheon is included with your Conference registration.

Awards Luncheon Only: If you plan to attend ONLY the awards luncheon, pick the "Awards Luncheon only" option in the pricing. 

Students/New Professional Afternoon only: The student/new professionals track is for students and new professionals that would like to attend only the afternoon portion beginning at 1:15 PM.

We're offering several tracks: Clinical, Macro, and Self-Care. See the topics below!


 We would like to have you join us as we recognize the following award recipients:

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: John Verrill, ACSW

PUBLIC ELECTED OFFICIAL OF THE YEAR: Rep. Reginald Bolding (LD 27)

CITIZEN OF THE YEAR: Heather Seets (Arizona Superior Court in Yavapai County)

TRANSFORMATIONAL EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR: Robin Bonifas, PhD

NASW AZ PRESIDENT'S AWARD: Josefina Ahumada, LCSW

Earn up to 6 CEUs! NASWAZ used feedback from prior years and we will offer shorter sessions! The CEU opportunities will be divided into 4 sessions. Everyone will attend the morning session and we will have three additional sessions (Sessions A, B, and C) with three to four workshops each throughout the day. The workshops are designed to meet the AZBBHE requirements for cultural competency, ethics/law, or general CEUs as indicated in the workshop descriptions. Here is a look at the day's tentative schedule in a glance:

7:30 AM – Sign-in/Marketplace/Breakfast

8:00 AM – Morning Session: "Policy Updates Panel" facilitated by Bahney Dedolph (1.5 CEUs Ethics)

9:45 AM – SESSION A Workshops (choose 1 - 1.5 CEUs Ethics)*

A1: "Technology,  Telehealth and Ethical Practice" presented by Ruby Rideout, Michigan LMSW 

A2: "Policy Advocacy in Ethically Trying Times" facilitated by Shannon Schell, MSW

A3:  "Trauma Stewardship – Ethics of Caring for Yourself While Caring for Others" presented by Sirene-Rose Lipschutz, LMSW

Full-day: Full-day Conference (includes Awards Luncheon) pricing is as follows: $190 for NASW members; $250 for non-members early bird pricing (retired NASW members save $40!).

Awards Luncheon only: Want to go to the Awards Luncheon only? $50 

Students and New Professionals: Select this option to attend the afternoon only after 1:15 pm.

NOTE: Please indicate any food allergies and preferences in the comment field when registering. If your require additional accommodations, please let us know.
 
All full-conference attendees attend the morning session (1.5 CEUs). 
*When registering, pick one workshop from Session A (1.5 CEUs), one workshop from Session B (1.5 CEUs), and one Workshop from Session C (1.5 CEUs).
