"Native American Culture, Historical Trauma, Fatherhood: Where to go from here?" (3 CEUs cultural competency/diversity)

Participants in this workshop will be provided an understanding of the adversities and barriers encountered by Native American men and why this is important to know and how we can effectively work with them.

Major topics:

1. Historical adversities of Native American men;

2. Etiology of current behavior; and

3. Strategies for working with Native American men.

Kevin Poleyumptewa is a fatherhood practitioner and business owner.  He has provided fatherhood and healthy relationships programming in communities, jails and juvenile residential treatment facilities.  He has also provided training, workshop and keynote address for various Native American tribes, communities, conferences, high schools and youth programs.
