"Addiction and Families: A family Affair" (3 CEUs cd) presented by Mary M. Buhman, LCSW

This presentation will illustrate the impact that addiction and recovery has on the entire family. Ways to explain addiction and recovery to children and suggestions of ways for parents and children to rebuild and heal. 

Topics that will be covered:

I. Increase awareness of impact of addiction on children and families. 

II. How to talk with children affected by familial substance abuse. 

III. Cultural aspects of working with families in recovery. 

Mary M. Buhman LCSW, graduate of University of Nebraska at Omaha. Trained in Trauma Focused CBT, EMDR, Lifespan Integration, Motivational Interviewing, CISM, and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Iowa. She has extensive knowledge of mental health, substance abuse and recovery and how both impact  children and families.

Note: Banner University Medical Center-Phoenix is located on the east side of 12th ST just south of McDowell. Training will be held in the Banner Institutes Building. There is a parking to the north and we also have valet parking.
