"Sex Addiction 101: Diverse Populations, Diverse Treatments" (3 CEUs cd) presented by Lauren Timmermans, NCC, LAC, CSAT, MBA

This workshop will cover Sex Addiction 101 with an overview of what sex addiction is and what it is not. This will include the participants taking a version of the Sexual Dependency Inventory (SDI) and a discussion on how to interpret the SDI. The workshop will examine the unique dynamics of sexual addiction from the populations of men, women, teens, and the LGBTQ community. The workshop looks at the treatment approaches in working with different populations within sexual addictions (men, women, teens and the LGBTQ community). Outline of major topics to be covered:

Lauren Timmermans, NCC, LAC, CSAT, MBA is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist who specializes in working with addicts, partners, and family members of those struggling with the spectrum of intimacy disorders. She is also passionate about working with many other presenting issues such as LGBTQ issues, family of origin work, grief and loss, self-esteem, career and workaholic issues, as well as substance abuse issues. 

From 2014 to 2016, she worked as a Primary and Lead Therapist for Gentle Path at The Meadows and The Meadows Outpatient Center, where she was honored to learn from great minds such as Pia Melody, Dr. Claudia Black and Dr. Patrick Carnes.

In 2015, Lauren followed her passion and became a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. In this area of practice she offers men's and women's processing groups, teen processing and prevention groups, individual therapy for addict or partner/spouse, and couples therapy. Her therapeutic style includes utilizing Dr. Carnes 30-Task Model and blends the addiction model with Pia Melody's Developmental Model of Immaturity, covering family of origin work and trauma from childhood.
